Colin Self Presents...

NEXT TIME 1: ALREADY

This is the predecessor event to NEXT TIME 2: ALMOST

NEXT TIME: A time-based art festival that presents performances as theatrical interpretations of the near future in literal, metaphorical, and abstract form. I curated these performers for their innate sensibility of looking forward into the future and ALREADY embodying the futures that have yet to come.

NEXT TIME is presenting work that peers forward into the immediate future. The idea of "next time" grapples the distances placed before changes. The incantation of speaking the words "next time" is a psychic activity- to project consciousness into the future and the possibility of a secondary existence. The performers included inside of NEXT TIME are intentionally or unintentionally projecting our futures with their performance work. Whether it be in concept, in behavior, in mindset, or in practice; the performers of NEXT TIME remind us that there is a future.

Colin Self in collaboration with Snowy Wilderness and WHITE BOX NY presents...

NEXT TIME 2: ALMOST

The second of the sequential series NEXT TIME, preceeded by NEXT TIME 1: ALREADY

NEXT TIME: A time-based art festival that presents artists projecting future consciousness or theatrical interpretations of the near future. A compiling performances that are looking forward to the semblance of 2012, 2013, and beyond.

NEXT TIME is presenting work that peers forward into the immediate future. The idea of "next time" grapples our close distances with change and cultural/social progress, and invites the mind to move forward. The incantation of speaking the words "next time" is a psychic activity- to project consciousness into the future and the possibility of a secondary existence. The performers included inside of NEXT TIME are intentionally or unintentionally projecting our futures with their performance work. Whether it be in concept, in behavior, in mindset, or in practice; the performers of NEXT TIME are creating the future.
